SERVER SITE MAPS

Once you have made your connection to the server you can save all the connection and site information in a Server Site Map.

Terrapin will automatically prompt you to save this information when you close the program if the site has not been saved before or if changes to a previously saved site have been made. You will be able to save the Site Map with a name of your choice to represent what the site is for. You can save a new site at any time by selecting Server... Save As... from the menu.

Site Maps provide you with graphical representation of the remote server which can be viewed at any time off-line. To open a saved Site Map select Server... Open... from the menu and select the site you wish to open.

Folders that have been visited will appear yellow indicating that you can navigate through them without requiring a connection. The contents of each folder will be displayed in the FTP File Window. (Upper right white box).

If you wish to open folders that are grey, or perform any tasks (e.g. transfer files) then a connection to the Internet will be required. If your computer is set to autodial when Internet communications are initiated then you will be prompted to connect automatically as and when required. If not then you must manually dial out first by using Dial-Up Networking.

You can edit certain parameters (e.g. username and password) contained in the Site Map by right clicking the server icon in the FTP site window (upper left white box) and selecting Properties, or

by selecting View... Server Properties... from the menu.
