UPLOADING YOUR WEBSITE
There are two ways of uploading your website files using Terrapin FTP:
1) You can use the bespoke Upload Wizard that takes you through the process of publishing a website step by step.
2) You can upload individual files or your whole website by dragging and dropping
Just click on Server...Publish Website.. from the main menu and follow the instructions.
To transfer files you can simply drag the files you want to transfer from one computer view to the other. To upload files to the server you can drag them from the Local File Window (bottom right) and drop them on the correct destination folder in the FTP Folder Window (upper left).
If you wish to retrieve files you can drag them from the FTP File Window (upper right) and drop them on a folder on your local computer in the Local Folder View (bottom left).
As well as transferring files, you can also drag and drop complete folder structures. These can be
dragged and dropped between the FTP Folder Window (upper left) and Local Folder Window (bottom left).
When dragging and dropping folders Terrapin will always ask whether you wish to create a new subfolder within the destination folder or want to just copy the contents of the folder into the destination folder. This is particularly important when uploading a website.
Files transferred are copied not moved. i.e. when retrieving files you are not deleting them from the server.
NB Before uploading your website check that the first page of your website is called index.htm or index.html (with some ISP's it can also be called default.htm or default.html). If it is not then a list of files will be displayed on your website.
