MultiNet helps manage the risk of inappropriate content entering or leaving the organization. All content passing through MultiNet (either by email or via the web) can be validated against 2 standard levels of content verification.
- By textual content
- By source
Additional content protection features may be provided by Installable Services (such as antivirus protection).
Access Control by Textual Content
All text in emails and/or web pages can be checked against dictionaries of restricted material. Predefined dictionaries are supplied with the core product which define many commonly accepted inappropriate words and phrases. Standard dictionaries can be supplemented or replaced by custom dictionaries.
Content based access controls may be applied to all users or groups of users. Control policies are definable by an Administrator and may include:
barring access to restricted content, logging access to restricted content, copying restricted emails to an administrator.
Policies may be separately implemented for material entering or leaving the organisation,
Access Control by Source
Both email and web based resources may be restricted by source. Email may be rejected from an individual or entire domain. Web based resources may be restricted by site, protocol or port. Web based restrictions may be positive rules or negative rules.
ie: only allow access to the specified sites
or: deny access to the specified sites
