Email Server Concepts

The MultiNet Email Server provides you with a complete internal and external messaging system. Incorporating only open standards Internet Protocols, the Email Server will integrate with almost any Internet Protocol compliant software.

Click on next to read more about key email server features.

The Email Server provides the following features:

  • seamless automatic email administration. Email sent by users to other users on the internal network is automatically routed to the appropriate user mail box. Email destined for the Internet is stored until the next Internet connection is established when it is then dispatched across the Internet. Email can be collected from the Internet by using either SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) or POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3).
  • advanced connection scheduling. To manage connection time, MultiNet email server can easily be configured to automate Internet connections at pre-defined times of the day. Different scheduling can be set for week-days, Saturdays and Sundays. The option to connect on demand is also available so email destined for the Internet can be dispatched immediately. However, MultiNet can also be utilised in an environment with permanent network connections to the Internet and with ISDN routers.
  • comprehensive mail routing and auto generated message replies. Email routing can be defined and set-up on an individual user defined basis. Copies of email can be sent to any number of other users, or any number of predefined email addresses either internally or across the Internet. Any user account can be set to reply to email received with a predefined email message.
  • content checking, email logging and email rejection. Email can be checked against system defined dictionaries for specified material. All email can be logged and in line with ISO 9000 guide lines copies of email can be archived. Email received from predefined addresses can automatically be rejected with user definable rejection messages.
