Installable services enable MultiNet functionality to be expanded at any time without the need for upgrades or reinstallations.
By default Terrapin MultiNet installs 3 core services:
- Email
- Web Proxy
- DHCP Server
Additional services may be installed at anytime from an on-line catalogue. The catalogue is viewable from within the MultiNet Administration Center. When a service is selected from the catalogue, it is automatically downloaded and applied to the server. Administration clients (wherever, they are installed on the network) are automatically updated to provide access to the configuration settings of the new service. There is no need to restart the server. The functionality offered by the service is available easily.
Installable services ensure that the system is configured optimally for your needs. As your needs change new services may be installed or removed.
Services include: Net Directory (a method for sharing address books), scripting language support, a port mapper, and many others. New services are continually being added to the catalogue. To view a copy of the current catalogue click here
